Test availability changes while reception is active
When evaluating Posh and AnSer, change a fictional employee’s availability during the demonstration. This separates a general office schedule from a person’s current ability to accept a transfer.
- Start with the employee available, then mark the employee unavailable using the agreed process. Place a new request for that person and inspect when the change becomes visible to reception. Decide how staff confirm that an update has taken effect.
- Test a call already being prepared for transfer when the status changes. Agree whether the receptionist rechecks availability, completes the attempt, or follows another approved rule. Inspect what the caller hears if the connection is not accepted.
- Return the employee to available and test again. Check that a temporary status does not leave a permanent message only path. The final record should distinguish the caller’s request from the employee’s availability at the time of the attempt.
