Make a temporary contact change expire correctly

For a MAP Communications and AnSer answering comparison, use a temporary replacement contact with a defined start and end time. The key test is whether the exception is applied and then removed without losing the ordinary contact path.

  1. Supply the normal recipient and a fictional substitute covering one shift. Identify who may approve the change and how the active instructions are confirmed. Check the destination used before the temporary assignment starts.
  2. During the assignment, ask for an ordinary message and a separately approved priority message. Inspect which recipient receives each. Replacing one contact should not silently replace unrelated departments or change the classification rules for incoming calls.
  3. Repeat the demonstration after the exception ends. Verify that the original arrangement returns and that any message still awaiting action has an owner. Agree how a handover records outstanding work when the substitute is no longer responsible.
